CulturALL Cultural Education Conference

On December 21st, 2019 at PHD House, we hosed the first ever CulturALL Education Conference. The aim of this speaker series was to illustrate the importance of cultural and innovative education on the overall growth of a student. It was a collaborative learning experience for educators from all backgrounds, with the speakers being selected based on their immense expertise and contribution to cultural education in New Delhi. 

 

The conference included 5 panel members and an audience of over 80 people including educators, NGO teachers and school teachers and an open discussion, question answer session and a display of the paintings and newsletters of CHETNA NGO and CanSupport.

Meet The Speakers

Ms. Vaishali Chakravarty 

Vaishali Chakravarty is one of India's leading drama & life skills educators and a theatre practitioner. She is the founder of Joy Of Drama, the most recommended drama and life skills education organization in the country. Vaishali has formally trained in Drama & Speech and she  is also the Academic Consultant for Trinity College London (India) and the Group Artistic Director for Actor Factor Theatre Company.

Mr. Vineet Tandon 

Vineet Tandon is India’s first and only guitar playing motivational speaker. Vineet’s musical motivational sessions are a blend of music, poetry and bhajans . He has a range of life experiences, ranging from global business to blogging and songwriting. He is also a regular columnist in Dainik Jagran (India’s most-circulated newspaper). 

Mrs. Preeti Agarwal Mehta 

After graduating with a degree in Psychology and English Literature from Lady Shri Ram College and Education of Children with Special Needs from the Spastic Society of Northern India (now AADI) in a time when Arts Therapy was relatively unknown in India, Preeti gravitated towards performance and art based therapy with the India chapter of US NGO ‘Very Special Arts’, conducting workshops for teachers and differently abled children and youth. She is a trained counsellor as well as an actor and performing artist for stage, digital media and TVCs. 

Mrs. Radhika Kathal 

Radhika Kathal, a disciple of Guru Geeta Chandran, has been pursuing dance since a young age and is trained in folk and classical dance. She has had the privilege of performing for Former US President Barack Obama and the Prime Minister of Thailand also worked as an arts consultant on a project for blind students in collaboration with UNESCO, the National Association for the Blind and Saksham NGO. Radhika is also a trained Hindustani Classical vocalist who has recorded playback scores for TV serials on Doordarshan and sung jingles for radio campaigns. Radhika is a Founder/Director of KALADHWANI, an institute where she imparts training in both Bharatanatyam and Hindustani Music.

Mr. Sanjay Gupta 

Sanjay Gupta is an Engineer turned social worker and Director of NGO Childhood Enhancement through Training and Action (CHETNA), which works for the empowerment of street and working children in Delhi and neighboring states. He founded CHETNA with his peers, and under his leadership it has grown into a reputed organization that has dedicated 15 years to showcase models that have been acknowledged nationally and internationally. Sanjay has motivated street children to form their own federation called "Badthe-Kadam". He is also the Vice Chairperson of the National Action Coordination Group, which has a mandate to end violence against children in South Asia as part of a SAARC commitment.
